Conical and radial block drums are manufactured for three cutting applications:

• coal (Radial block only)
• coal and rock
• rock

Shearer drums are manufactured in three styles:

• Three start vane wrap
• Four start vane wrap
• Six start vane wrap

Depending on vane wrap, bit lacing can be single bit per line, two bits per line, three bits per line or multi-bits per line. Also, depending on size and conditions large diameter drums could have a pre-cutter to aid in rib face control on the longwall face.

Shearer drum special design features:

• Heavy duty welds on all blocks and drum structure
• Blocks and spray housings in individual cut-outs, protected by vane pillar
• Combination of wear plates to protect drums, high grade BHN plate, carbide plate, nickel chrome plating for protecting discharge end of vane and face-ring blocks
• Plating on the discharge end of the barrel
• Gussets on the discharge end of the non-conveying side of the vane to provide extra support

Upon your request, to assist you in your decision of purchasing a set of ACS quality drums, the following charts will be provided: 1) a chart of production capacities, clogging limits and spray consumption (in gallons per minute) and 2) a chart comparing your current drums in torque and variation of the torque and your current drums in average power and variation in power.
